    Problems at camp

Who to contact and what to do if you face challenges at camp, from staff conflicts to safety concerns.

    Last updated April 2, 2026

What if I have a problem at camp?

Start by talking to your department head, supervisor, or an experienced member of camp staff. Most issues can be resolved at camp level, and the people around you have likely dealt with similar situations before. If the issue isn't resolved, or you'd rather speak to someone outside of camp, contact Camp Leaders directly. The US office is available 24/7: 1-866-803-7643.

    How can Camp Leaders help?

If speaking to camp staff does not resolve the issue, contact Camp Leaders. The team is made up of camp alumni who understand the challenges of camp life. The Camp Leaders US office is available 24/7: 1-866-803-7643.

Issues with camp directors or other staff

If you have a problem with your Camp Director or other senior staff, contact Camp Leaders directly. You should also contact Camp Leaders if you are asked to do anything that does not align with your visa category, or if you feel unsafe.

What if I lose my passport or important documents?

If you lose your passport while in the US, contact your country's nearest embassy or consulate as soon as possible to arrange a replacement. You should also notify Camp Leaders so they can support you through the process. Having digital copies of your passport, visa, DS-2019, and insurance card saved to your phone and email will make this much easier, so set this up before you travel.

If you lose your DS-2019, contact Camp Leaders and your visa sponsor. A replacement can be arranged, but it takes time.

Keep your documents in a safe, consistent place at camp and carry copies rather than originals when you are traveling on time off.
