    Placement offers

What to do when you receive a placement offer from a camp, how to accept, and what happens next.

    Last updated April 2, 2026

How do I receive a placement offer?

If a camp wants to hire you after the interview, a placement offer will appear on your Camp Leaders profile. You will receive a notification letting you know it is there.

What should I check before accepting?

Take time to review the details of the offer carefully before accepting. Check:

    • Your role and responsibilities

    • The start and end dates

    • Your pocket money (stipend) amount

    • The camp location

    • Any specific requirements mentioned

If anything is unclear or does not match what was discussed in the interview, contact the Camp Leaders team before accepting.

How do I accept a placement?

You can accept the placement offer directly through your Camp Leaders profile. Review the details carefully, check your role, dates, and pocket money, and then accept or decline promptly. Placement offers do expire, so do not leave them sitting for too long.

Once you sign the offer, your status will update and you are officially set for camp.

After accepting the placement offer, your camp will send you a separate camp contract with more detailed terms and conditions, including camp policies and practical arrangements. The placement offer is the initial agreement through the Camp Leaders system; the camp contract is the full document from your camp.

Where do I get my camp contract?

Once you have been placed, your camp will either email you your contract or upload it to your account in their camp management software. Camp Leaders does not have copies of camp contracts, as these are issued directly to you by your camp.

Can I decline a placement offer?

Yes. You have the choice in where you go, and you're not obligated to accept an offer. However, keep in mind that Camp Leaders guarantees every participant at least 1 offer of placement. If you decline an offer from a camp that matches the preferences in your application, this may affect your refund eligibility.

We'd encourage you to be open-minded. Thousands of participants over the years have had amazing summers at camps they weren't aware of or were unsure about at the beginning. If you have questions about a specific offer, talk to your Camp Leaders team before declining.

If a participant is consistently declining all camps and not engaging in the spirit of the program, they may be withdrawn. For full details, refer to your program agreement.

Can I keep interviewing with other camps if I have a placement offer?

Yes, it's possible to have interviews and offers from more than one camp at a time, especially during hiring fairs. However, we'd encourage you to make a decision quickly. Placement offers expire, and a good offer in hand is better than waiting on one that may not come. If you're happy with the camp, the role, and the dates, accept it.

Leaving an offer open for too long can block that role for other participants on the program. If you know a camp isn't right for you, decline promptly and politely so the position can be offered to someone else.

Once you accept an offer, you're committed to that camp.

What if my camp cancels my placement?

It is rare, but occasionally a camp may cancel a placement after you have accepted it. If this happens, Camp Leaders will work to find you a new placement as quickly as possible. Contact your team as soon as you are informed and they will take it from there.

Can I get placed with a friend or partner?

Yes. You can link your profiles together when logged in. For full details on how this works, see the Connecting with camps article.
