    On review

    Last updated April 2, 2026

    What does On Review mean?

When a camp director likes your profile, they will put you On Review. This means they are interested in hiring you and may contact you in the coming days for a chat or interview.

While you are On Review with a camp, other camps cannot contact you or put you On Review. Your review status will expire if neither you nor the camp takes action. The expiry period can vary depending on the time of year, so check your Camp Leaders profile for the exact time remaining on your review. If your review expires, your status will return to Visible and other camps will be able to find you again.

What should I do when I am put On Review?

Act quickly. Camp directors are often interviewing several candidates at once, and being responsive shows your enthusiasm.

Here are five things to do as soon as you are put On Review:

    • Check your emails regularly, including your spam folder. Camp directors are based in the US and their emails can sometimes be filtered. Also check the messaging feature in your Camp Leaders profile, as they may contact you there

    • Send the camp a short, friendly message through your profile to introduce yourself and show your enthusiasm for their camp

    • Review your own profile, especially your Skills and All About Me sections. Camp directors often use your profile to guide their interview questions, so make sure you are familiar with what you have written

    • Research the camp using their profile on the platform and their website. Directors appreciate when candidates show they have taken the time to learn about their camp

    • Be mindful of the time difference between your location and the US when checking for messages and scheduling interviews

What if the camp has not contacted me?

If you have been On Review and have not heard from the camp, do not wait too long. Check your profile for the time remaining on your review, then send the camp a polite message through your Camp Leaders profile. Keep it friendly and enthusiastic, and let them know you are keen to learn more about their camp.

    Can I cancel a review?

You can cancel a review from your Camp Leaders profile after the first 24 hours. Before you cancel, we recommend messaging the camp and attending the interview if possible. It's hard to judge a camp from its website alone, and interviews often give a much better feel for the place.

If you cancel a review, you'll be removed from consideration for that camp.

What if I do not get offered a placement?

Do not worry. Being On Review and not getting offered a placement is completely normal. It is common for participants to be On Review several times before finding the right match. Each interview is good practice and helps you learn what different camps are looking for.

When your status returns to Visible, other camps will be able to see your profile again. Keep your profile up to date, continue browsing camps, and stay active on the platform.
