    Waiting for placement

What to do if you have not been placed at a camp yet, and how to improve your chances of getting matched.

    Last updated March 25, 2026

What if I have not been placed yet?

Waiting for your camp match can feel long when you are excited about your summer, but this is normal. Camp directors review applications at different times throughout the hiring season, and new camps are added to the platform regularly.

Most participants find their match within about 30 days of reaching Ready to Hire. For some it happens faster, and for others it takes longer. The Camp Leaders team is working behind the scenes to find the right opportunity for you.

How can I improve my chances?

The more active you are on the platform, the better your chances. For a full list of things you can do to speed up the process, see the "What can I do to speed up the process?" section in the How placement works article. The most impactful steps are adding a video introduction, writing detailed skill descriptions, and using the Interested In You filter to find camps that have already watchlisted you.

What happens if I am not placed?

Camp Leaders guarantees that every participant will receive at least 1 camp offer. The team works throughout the entire hiring season to make sure everyone finds a match.

If you have not heard from any camps and are concerned, contact your local Camp Leaders office. They can review your profile, suggest improvements, and help connect you with camps that are looking for someone with your skills.
