    At the airport

What to do at the airport before your flight to the US, including check-in, security, and boarding tips.

    Last updated March 25, 2026

    How early should I arrive?

Arrive at least 3 hours before your departure time, even if you have checked in online. Flights to the United States have additional security measures, and the summer travel period means longer lines at check-in and security.

What do I need to have ready?

Have your passport, boarding pass, and camp address ready. You may be asked for your camp address and phone number at check-in. Keep all important documents in your hand luggage and easily accessible.

What if my bag is overweight?

Most airports have stations where you can weigh your bag before check-in. If your bag is over the limit, you can rearrange items into your hand luggage or remove items to avoid paying extra fees.

When should I go through security?

Go through security no later than 90 minutes before your departure. You are traveling during the busy summer period, so lines can be long. Earlier is always better.

    What is boarding time?

Boarding time is when you should be at your gate, ready to board. It is not the departure time. Keep an eye on the screens at the airport, as your gate may change.
