    Completing your application

What happens after you are accepted onto the Camp Leaders program, including next steps and profile completion.

    Last updated April 2, 2026

What happens once I am accepted?

Once you have been accepted onto the Camp Leaders program, new sections of your application will become available. These need to be completed before you can move to the Ready to Hire stage, where camp directors can find your profile.

What do I need to complete?

After acceptance, you will need to:

    1. Complete any new sections that have opened up in your application

    2. Submit at least one reference (ideally all three)

    3. Upload your passport

    4. Complete your police check

    5. Make your next payment

Your Camp Leaders profile will show you exactly what still needs to be done. Each completed item moves you closer to Ready to Hire.

    What is the medical section?

After acceptance, you will be asked to complete a medical history section covering health conditions, disabilities, allergies, medications, and dietary needs. Answer everything honestly and in full. This information helps make sure you are placed somewhere that can support you properly.

Your medical information stays private and is only shared with your camp after you have been placed, so they can make any necessary accommodations.

It is important to know that your Camp Leaders insurance does not cover pre-existing or chronic conditions. If this might apply to you, see the Your insurance article for the full definition and your options for additional coverage.

You will also be asked about childhood vaccinations. Most camps require them by state law, so make sure your records are up to date and that you are willing to meet any additional requirements if needed.

How do I get to Ready to Hire?

Ready to Hire is the stage where your profile becomes visible to camp directors. To reach it, you need to complete all required sections of your application, including your profile, references, documents, program agreement, and payments.

Your profile will show your progress and highlight any outstanding items. Once everything is complete, your status will update to Ready to Hire automatically.

Why does getting to Ready to Hire quickly matter?

Camps start hiring early and positions fill fast. The sooner you reach Ready to Hire, the sooner your profile becomes visible to camp directors who are actively searching for staff.

Participants who get to Ready to Hire early have more camps to choose from and a better chance of finding the role that is right for them. Once you are Ready to Hire, you do not have to wait to be discovered. You can browse camps, express interest, and request interviews directly through the platform.

Common reasons for delays at this stage

The most common reasons applications get stuck between acceptance and Ready to Hire:

    • References not yet submitted or completed by the referee

    • Outstanding payments

    • Missing documents (passport, police check)

    • Incomplete skills section

If you are unsure what is holding up your application, check your profile for outstanding items or contact the Camp Leaders team.
