8. Other Common About Camp Questions
When thinking about camp, so many questions come to mind. Check out our most popular FAQs.
Can I get placed with a friend?
We'll get you both to camp, but it may or may not be the same camp. Some camps are happy to hire friends, whereas others prefer to hire individuals. It all depends on which camps get in touch with you.
If you desperately want to go to the same camp as a friend, then coming to our job fairs together will give you the opportunity to speak to camps directly.
Even if you don't go to the same camp, you can meet up for your 30 days to travel after camp.
Can I find my own camp?
If you've never been to camp before and you are applying to Camp Leaders for the first time then we'll find a camp for you. We've got a team of camp experts who have been to camp before ready to match you to perfect camp, based on your application and preferences. However, if you have already found a camp and they have offered you a role you can still get visa sponsorship via Camp Leaders.
How much money should I take to camp with me?
Visa regulations state that you need $1000 personal funds (including funds available on a credit card). How much money you take depends on what you’d like to do during time off and after camp. We recommend making a loose plan before you go, so you have an idea of how much to budget. Remember you have access to the Camp Leaders exclusive after camp travel perks.
Will I meet people from my camp before it starts?
We have a Facebook community made up of Leaders who have all been placed at a camp. By joining the group, you’re likely to meet others going to your camp. For those who opt for us to book their flights, we also try to book you onto the same flight as others travelling to camp too.
